Varsity Eight Wins Silver Medal at Year-End Regatta

CAMDEN, N.J. – The University of Miami Varsity Eight placed behindKansas in claiming the Silver Medal in the Grand Final of the 1999Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championship Regatta onCooper’s River.
Miami completed the 2,000-meter course with a time of 6:41.5 to theJayhawks’ 6:36.8. Finishing in third was Colgate (6:44.3), followedby Temple, New Hampshire and Drexel.
UM’s Junior Varsity Eight placed sixth in its Grand Final with atime of 7:13.6. Yale won the JV Eights race with a time of 6:37.9,followed by Fordham and Central Florida.
