You can’t miss this Hurricane — all six feet, 10 inches and 303 pounds of basketball power! A southern charmer out of the heart of ACC country in Winston-Salem, N.C., Reggie Johnson enters his sophomore season with the potential to become one of the league’s premiere big men.
After an impressive performance in the ACC Tournament — including setting a new freshman record by becoming the first rookie to finish 100 percent from the field in a tourney game (8-8 FGs, 6-6 FTs en route to a season-high 22 points versus Wake Forest), Johnson closed his redshirt freshman season earning ACC All-Tournament Second Team honors, as well as being selected the team’s “Most Improved Player” and recognized as the team’s leading free throw shooter at UM’s 2010 postseason banquet.
