Hurricanes Open Fall 2005 Rowing Season with the Head of the Creek Regatta

CORAL GABLES, <?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>Fla. – The University of Miami rowing team will launch the 2005 season by hosting the 13th annual Head of the Creek Regatta Sunday, October 16, at the RonaldShaneWatersportsCenter in Miami Beach, Florida. Racing starts at 8:00 a.m. and is free to the public. <?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
“Our fall training has been very positive and productive so far,” said head coach Debra Morgan. “We’ll use this race to get some experience in the eight, but to really focus on the small boats. The athletes are able to get more individual feedback in the small boats and they can compete with one another more aggressively.”
The Hurricanes will face competition from Barry and Nova Southeastern.
