Freshman Diver Kelci Bryant Named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Coral Gables, FLA (www.hurricanesports.com) — – Freshman diver Kelci Bryant has been named the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete for the period ending December 7.

Bryant picked up a first place finish in the women’s 1-meter diving event over the weekend at the 2008 Ohio State Invitational. Bryant swept away the field with a score of 320.45 to earn her second consecutive 1-meter title this year. Bryant , who participated in the 2008 Olympics in the 3-meter synchronized diving event, trailed after the preliminary round, but put together a series of dives in the finals to claim the win.

She also took a second place award in the 3-meter springboard on the opening day of action, putting a score of 346.35 on the board in the finals. Again, the Chatham, Illinois freshman trailed after the preliminary round of diving, only to bounce back emphatically for a great final round of dives.
