Soccer Opens The 2003 Season

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The University of Miami women’s soccer team opens the 2003 season in Boca Raton, Fla. participating in the Florida Atlantic Tournament Friday and Sunday.

The Hurricanes play Indiana Friday at 5:30 p.m. and Loyola Sunday at 2 p.m.

In the only exhibition game this season, the Hurricanes fell to Florida, 1-0.

Returning from last year’s squad are a number of players with starting experience including 2002 All-BIG EAST players Britney Butcher, Vonda Matthews and Lindsey Yach.

The Hurricanes also welcome nine freshmen to this year’s squad.
