Women's Basketball Hosts No. 20 Villanova

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-The Miami women’s basketball team hosts No. 20 Villanova in a BIG EAST matchup Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Convocation Center.

With a win over Villanova head coach Ferne Labati would become the 39th Division I coach to earn 400 career victories.

Labati in her 24th season has compiled an overall record of 399-286. She is in her 15th season at Miami with a record of 263-164.

The Hurricanes enter the contest 13-5 overall and 5-2 in the BIG EAST after beating Virginia Tech 67-66 in overtime Tuesday night.

The Wildcats (14-4 overall, 4-3 in BIG EAST) are coming off of a 58-38 loss to No. 2 Connecticut Wednesday night.

Miami is tied with Rutgers and Seton Hall for the third place spot in the BIG EAST standings at 5-2 in conference play. Villanova is tied with Virginia Tech for sixth place at 4-3 in the BIG EAST.

The Wildcats own a 10-9 advantage over Miami in the all-time series. VU has won the last five meetings over the Hurricanes.

Tamara James continues to lead the Miami offense averaging 23.0 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.

Trish Juhline leads the Wildcats with 17.3 points per game.
