Hurricanes Clinch No. Four Seed In BIG EAST Tournament

CORAL GABLES, Fla.–University of Miami women’s head soccer coach Jim Blankenship has led his youthful team to another BIG EAST tournament appearance as the Hurricanes clinched the number four seed in the Northeast Division of the conference.
Miami (6-8, 2-3 in conference) will face the No. 1 team in the nation and the No. 1 seed in the Mid-Atlantic Division of the BIG EAST Notre Dame (13-0, 6-0 in conference) in the first round of the BIG EAST tournament.
The Hurricanes still have five matches remaining in the season before heading to the tournament.
This year, the championship continues with an eight-team format. Quarterfinals will be held at campus sites on October 28 & 29, with the semifinal squads moving to the Alumni Field in Notre Dame, Ind. on November 3 & 5.
No. 17 Connecticut clinched the Northeast Division title with a 5-0 BIG EAST record, while Notre Dame clinched the Mid-Atlantic title.
Miami was eliminated by No. 1 seed Notre Dame last season in the BIG EAST tournament.
