UM Soccer Plays Host To Rutgers

CORAL GABLES, Fla.–The University of Miami women’s soccer team will play host to Rutgers Friday night at 7 p.m. at Cobb Stadium.

Miami enters the contest 7-8-1 overall, while Rutgers is 8-7-2 overall.

This will be the first meeting between Miami and Rutgers.

The Hurricanes tied 1-1 with Seton Hall in their last outing. Rutgers defeated St. John’s 3-1 Wednesday night.

Freshman Vonda Matthews (Broken Arrow, Ok) scored the lone goal for UM in the tie with Seton Hall. Sophomore Lisa Gomez (Boca Raton, Fla.) assisted Matthews with the goal.

Sophomore Laura West (Allen, Texas) continues to lead the UM offense with 13 points, including six goals scored and one assist.

Keri Lages leads the Scarlet Knights with 15 points, including seven goals and one assist.
