CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami’s Sheuneen Ta was honored by the Atlantic Coast Conference Monday, drawing All-ACC Second Team honors, as voted on by head coaches from around the conference.
The sophomore midfielder, who hails from London, England, led the Hurricanes with three assists on the year and was third on the team with nine shots on goal despite missing six matches with a season-ending injury.
“This speaks volumes about what type of person Sheuneen is both on and off the field and is a direct reflection on the hard work that she puts in day-in and day-out. I am extremely proud of her.” Head Coach Tricia Taliaferro on Ta’s All-ACC Selection |
“It is an honor for any player to be recognized by coaches within the ACC,” head coach Tricia Taliaferro said of Ta’s selection. “This speaks volumes about what type of person Sheuneen is both on and off the field and is a direct reflection on the hard work that she puts in day-in and day-out. I am extremely proud of her.”
Ta was an instrumental part of Miami’s win over ACC-rival Maryland in Coral Gables, recording an assist on the game-winning goal in the Hurricanes’ 2-1 victory over the Terrapins.
She was also credited with an assist in matches against Clemson and Duke in 2004.
