CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami forward Julian Gamble has been granted a clock extension by the NCAA, allowing the senior to play basketball next season.

Gamble is sidelined this season after tearing the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in his left leg in August.

“Julian Gamble is one of the smartest young men I have had the pleasure to coach,” said Coach Jim Larranaga. “His knee injury was a real disappointment for all of us. We are excited for him, and his family, that the NCAA has granted him another year of eligibility. He is a real asset to our program.”

A team leader, Gamble started 13 games in 2010-11 and averaged 3.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game. In his three-season career, Gamble has played in 93 games, averaging 3.4 points, 3.0 rebounds and 0.7 blocks per game.
