McClinton Named ACC Player of the Week

Coral Gables, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – University of Miami sophomore guard Jack McClinton (Baltimore, Md.) has been named the ACC Player of the Week the league announced Monday.

McClinton averaged 26.0 points, 2.0 assists and 1.5 rebounds in two games last week, including a 90-82 ACC win over No. 21 Georgia Tech. McClinton made 9-of-16 (.563) from the three-point range and was 17-of-18 (.944) from the line over the two games.

McClinton matched a career-high with 30 points in Tuesday’s 61-59 loss to Northwestern before tallying 22 points in Sunday’s win over the Yellow Jackets. McClinton has scored 20 or more points in five straight games and leads the ACC in scoring (21.0).

He is the third Hurricane to earn ACC Player of the Week honors joining Robert Hite (Dec. 13, 2004) and Guillermo Diaz (Jan. 10, 2005).
