McClinton Earns Third Team All-ACC Honors

<?xml:namespace prefix=”st1″ ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags”?>University of Miami sophomore guard Jack McClinton has been named to the All-ACC Third Team as announced today by the Associated Press and Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.<?xml:namespace prefix=”o” ns=”urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office”?>
McClinton, a native of Baltimore, Md., concluded the 2006-07 regular season ranked first in the ACC in three point percentage (.438) and three-pointers made per game (2.93) and ranked first in the league in free throw percentage (.896).
Following a 31-point effort against FloridaState Saturday, he finished ninth in the ACC and first on the UM roster in scoring with 16.8 points per game.
Heading into Thursday’s ACC Tournament First Round match-up with Maryland, McClinton’s 85 three-pointers made this season currently ranks tied for first in the UM record books.
McClinton’s All-ACC honor marks the third-consecutive season – one for every season Miami has been a member of the ACC – a player from UM has garnered either first, second or third team accolades.
