Oct. 18, 2004
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami women’s soccer team will square-off with in-state ACC rival, No. 19 Florida State at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cobb Stadium.
Head coach Tricia Taliaferro and the Hurricanes, who enter the match with a record of 3-8-0 on the year and a 1-6-0 record in ACC play, will look for back-to-back wins in Tuesday’s match with the Seminoles after downing cross-town rival Florida International 1-0 last Wednesday.
Sophomore Kelly Pflugner netted the game-winner against the Golden Panthers and has now accounted for two of Miami’s last three goals.
Pflugner’s goal against FIU put her in a three-way tie with senior Britney Butcher and junior Lindsey Yach, who each have a pair of goals, for the UM lead.
Florida State heads to Coral Gables with an overall record of 11-3-1 and an ACC mark of 4-2-1. The Seminoles edged out NC State in a 3-2 decision this past Sunday in their last time out.
The Seminoles hold a 4-2 advantage over Miami in the series all-time standings.
