Miami Completes Thursday Practice

Oct. 4, 2001

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – The Miami Hurricanes practiced for 90 minutes in shorts and shells Thursday afternoon as the home game with Troy State (Saturday, 12 p.m., ESPN Regional syndication) loomed just 48 hours away.

“Thursday’s usually a looser day for us and this was no exception, but that’s not to say we didn’t get a lot done,” said Hurricanes head coach Larry Coker. “We worked on a lot of two-minute drill, some special teams, and some situational scrimmaging. It was a productive practice.”

Coker said middle linebacker D.J. Williams, who has not practiced this week while recovering from a high ankle sprain suffered against Pittsburgh, will not play against Troy State.
