Women's Basketball Team Holds Clinic At The Kendall Boys And Girls Club

Miami, FL (hurricanesports.com) – Members of the University of Miami men’sand women’s basketball teams held a free basketball clinic Tuesday afternoonfor approximately 40 local youths at the Kendall Boys and Girls Club inMiami, FL.from 6:30 – 8:00pm and was held for the Girls BasketballLeague of the Kendall Boys and Girls Club.

Hurricane student-athletes participating included senior forward MarthaBodley (US Virgin Islands), Senior Forward Kathryn Fowler (New York, NY),Senior Guard Sheila James (Rubonia, FL), Junior Guard Meghan Saake(Wellington, FL), Junior Guard Amanda Papuga (Oak Brook, IL), SophomoreGuard Hutashi Wilson (Toronto, Canada), and Shaquana Wilkins (Orlando, FL).The clinic began with an hour of drills to teach the fundamentals of severalaspects of the game of basketball including dribbling, low post offense,ball handling, free throw shooting, jump shooting and defense.Head Coach, Ferne Labati spoke about the importance of team work and theclinic concluded with an autograph session.
