UM Begins Preparations For Pittsburgh

Sept. 18, 2001

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The top-ranked Miami Hurricanes (ranked No. 1 by the Associated Press and in the ESPN/USA Today coaches’ poll) practiced for two hours in full pads on Tuesday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Fields on the UM campus to begin preparations for their upcoming clash with Pittsburgh.

“We had a great practice today,” said Hurricanes head coach Larry Coker. “It was the kind of practice we needed to have after a few days off. I was hoping our guys would come back with better focus after last week and they did. Everything we are working on is based on the Pittsburgh game. We are totally focused on Pittsburgh.”

Miami’s season resumes on Thursday, Sept. 27, at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh when the Hurricanes take on the University of Pittsburgh Panthers in a nationally televised (ESPN) game slated to kick off at 7:38 p.m. Eastern Time.
