Coral Gables, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The top-ranked Miami Hurricanes (ranked No. 1 by Associated Press and in the ESPN/USA Today coaches’ poll) practiced for two hours in full pads on Monday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Fields on the UM campus as their Thursday night clash with the Pittsburgh Panthers neared.

“It was our last real tough practice of the week and I was happy with what we accomplished,” head coach Larry Coker said. “I think we’re ready to play. The players have really worked hard the last couple of weeks and held their focus. We’ve had a long layoff, but I think we’ve made the most of it.”

The Hurricanes will practice again on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Greentree before a closed walk-through at UM on Wednesday. The team travels to Pittsburgh Wednesday afternoon.

Miami’s season resumes on Thursday, Sept. 27, at Heinz Field in Pittsburgh when the Hurricanes take on the University of Pittsburgh Panthers in a nationally televised (ESPN) game slated to kick off at 7:38 p.m. Eastern Time.
