Lindsey Yach Earns BIG EAST Honors

CORAL GABLES, Fla.-Lindsey Yach (Carrollton, Texas) of the Miami soccer team is named BIG EAST Rookie of the Week after leading the Hurricanes to a perfect 2-0 week in conference play.

The freshman forward helped Miami (6-3-0 overall, 3-0-0 conference) to an undefeated week with BIG EAST wins over No. 21 Boston College (3-1) and Providence (2-1).

Against the Eagles she had an assist on the Hurricanes’ tying goal. She scored the game-winning goal against the Friars, after dishing out an assist earlier in the match.

Yach is currently tied with Britney Butcher (Bothell, Wash.) with 17 total points on the season. She has scored seven goals and tallied three assists.

Butcher and Yach have 34 of Miami’s 69 total offensive points.

The Hurricanes are currently in first place in the BIG EAST Northeast Division with a perfect 3-0-0 record.

Miami is back in action Wednesday facing FIU at 7 p.m. at University Park.
