Brittney Macdonald named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Brittney Macdonald, a junior defender on the women’s soccer team, has been named the inaugural Muscle Milk Student Athlete of the Week for the 2009-10 school year.

In her team’s season-opener against the 8th ranked Flordia last Friday, August 21, Macdonald led the defensive effort that held the Florida Gators to only one goal on the evening. A season ago, the Littleton, Colo. native was one of five Hurricanes that were named to the ACC All-Academic Team and she was also selected to the CoSida/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team. Macdonald and the 2008 Hurricanes held opponents to a program best 20 goals, just 0.88 goals per contest.
