CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – – The top-ranked Miami Hurricanes (4-0 overall, 2-0 in the BIG EAST) officially began preparations for their annual battle with the Florida State Seminoles (3-1) as they practiced for two hours in pads and shorts on Wednesday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Fields on the UM campus.

University of Miami President Dr. Donna Shalala visited the Hurricanes near the end of practice and spoke to the team for a few minutes. Shalala, who took office on June 1, wished the team well in the game this weekend before the team wraps up preparations with a Thursday afternoon practice.

Miami and FSU meet for the 45th time in football this Saturday in a game that will be nationally televised by ABC Sports beginning at 12 p.m. Eastern Time. ESPN’s Game Day program also will take place in Tallahassee Saturday beginning at 10:30 a.m. just outside of Doak Campbell Stadium. Hurricanes fans attending the game are encouraged to attend the Game Day program to show their support for the team.
