UM Soccer Travels To Face Syracuse

CORAL GABLES, Fla.–The women’s soccer team of the University of Miami will begin a four-game road swing with BIG EAST opponent Syracuse Friday at 7 p.m. at Lampe Athletics Complex in Syracuse, N.Y.
UM enters the contest with a 6-6 record overall and 2-2 in the BIG EAST, while Syracuse is 8-4 overall and 2-2 in conference.
This is the final Northeast conference game for both teams, the winner of the match will secure a third place finish in the Northeast division of the conference.
Syracuse leads the all-time series 1-0 after defeating the Hurricanes 6-2 last season.
Both teams are coming off of losses, UM losing 4-3 to Jacksonville in double overtime and Syracuse falling to Connecticut 2-1.
Juniors Deidre Bass (Parkland, Fla.) and Jennifer Sanchez (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) have a combined total of total of seven goals and three assists in the last six matches.
Sophomore Laura West (Allen, Texas) continues to lead UM with 13 points and six goals scored.
Erin O’Grady leads Syracuse with 20 points and eight goals scored.
The Hurricanes will face Colgate on Sunday at 1 p.m. in Hamilton, N.Y.
