Miami Begins Game-Week Practices For Rutgers

Sept. 4, 2001

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The top-ranked Miami Hurricanes held a two-hour practice in full pads on Tuesday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Fields on the UM campus to officially kick off game-week preparations for their upcoming clash with the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers.

“We didn’t practice all that well today and we need to really pick it up tomorrow,” said Coker. “Sometimes you have days like this, days where you have some mental lapses. But, I think this bunch will come back tomorrow working hard. This is a group that will want to play well each week, regardless of the opponent.”

The Hurricanes will practice Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Greentree. Miami begins the home portion of its 2001 season on Saturday, September 8, against Rutgers. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. Fox Sports Net Florida will televise the game on a tape-delayed basis Sunday at 5 p.m. and Monday at 7 p.m.
