UM Soccer Opens BIG EAST Play Against Providence

CORAL GABLES, Fla.–The University of Miami women’s soccer team looks to extend its win streak to four as they open up BIG EAST play against Providence Sunday 1 p.m. at Cobb Stadium.
UM (3-1) has had a week off of play after beating Alabama 1-0 last Sunday to win the Bama Classic in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Sophomore defender Lisa Gomez (Boca Raton, Fla.) was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
Providence dropped to 2-3 overall after losing to Florida International 2-1 Friday night.
PC is 0-1 in BIG EAST play after losing 4-0 to Connecticut.
Sophomore Laura West (Allen, Texas) leads the UM offense with four goals this season and nine points.
