Hello Hurricane Fans!

Welcome to “News and Notes from Najeh!”

Sept. 20, 2001

Sorry I’ve been a little distant the last week orso, with the tragedies in New York, Washington and Pennsylvania. The world as we knowit has been a little confused. My heart goes out toanyone who lost someone on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001.

Well football has been a little tough the last couple ofdays – more due to the fact that we missed a game, postponing Washington to Nov. 24, and then we had a bye week, so it was long and hard.

Now we’repreparing for Pittsburgh. Thanks for your support and don’t forget to watch on Thursday.

Go Canes!

It’s great we came out with a win over Penn State butwe must stay focused. We have a long season ahead of us. This week we must come out focused and ready to play Rutgers because the best can lose on any given day!

Well finally training camp’s over, we’re back in schooland our final preparation for our season beganTesday.

The team’s attitude is totally focused on theobjective and that is something I can honestly say forthe first time in my five years here, everyone wasfocused. That is something I’m truely proud of.

Until next time, c ya!

We’ll we’ve been practicing for almost a week now,and it feels like two. Things are coming along good. The freshmen are practicing well – Frank Gore, Roscoe Parrish and Kellin Winslow are doing exceptionally well. Today was our first day in full pads and itwas hot as ever and it’s not backing down. It just keeps coming and coming and coming.

The question of the day is “What would I tell a ten-year-old if he asked whatmakes you so good?”

I would tell him what makes me good is the fact that I love the game, and when you love something you do your best at it every time.

Finally I want to give a shout out to the ‘Canes biggest fan Kenny Johnsonof Ellenwood, GA!

Yesterday (Wednesday, August 8) the veterans reported. We went through the normal physicals and other mandatory first-day back stuff. Now the fun begins! Freshmen heads are shaved, before picture day on Thursday. And thefirst three nights at camp each freshmen willsing a song or dance on top of the dining hall tables.I”ll let you know next week who actually has talentand who should stick to football.

As for me, this is my last go around and I’ve completed my first step toward mysenior season. I’m finished with summer workouts-ha ha!Anyway until next week I’m out.
