AS A SOPHOMORE (2005): Did not compete in 2005.

AS A FRESHMAN (2004): Competed in the 55-meters, 60-meters and long-jump competition during the indoor season and the 100-meter and 4×100-meter relay during the outdoor season… BIG EAST Indoor Champion in the long jump with a mark of 7.37 meters…finished third in the 60-meters at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships… competed in the preliminaries of the 100-meters at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships recording a season-best a time of 10.42 (wind-aided)…ran the opening leg of the 4×100-meter relay that placed third at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships.

HIGH SCHOOL: Suncoast…orginally signed with the University of Miami football team in 2002…a Parade All-American… a USA Today First-Team All-American… rated the no. 1 football prospect in Florida, regardless of position, by SuperPrep… rated the no. 6 prospect in the nation, regardless of position, by SuperPrep… earned First-Team Class 3A All-State honors as a senior… rushed for 1,014 yards and 12 touchdowns on 94 carries (17 touchdowns) while compiling 1,028 yards receiving on 38 catches for 9 touchdowns, in addition to throwing for 5 touchdowns and 225 yards as a senior… made 156 tackles (75 solos), had 3 quarterback sacks, caused 3 fumbles and recovered a fumble as a senior on defense… timed at 4.33 in the 40-yard dash… possesses a 38-inch vertical leap…a track and field standout who earned prep All-America honors and ranked second nationally in the long jump during his junior year.

PERSONAL: Nicknamed “Debo”…undeclared major…cousin of former UM linebacker Michael Smith (1996-99).
