2004 (JUNIOR): Played in all 12 games, starting nine games at defensive end on both the left and right sides…For the season, ranked seventh on the team (tops among the defensive linemen) with 60 tackles (23 solo), 15 tackles for loss, nine QB pressures, 6.5 sacks, one forced fumble and three fumble recoveries… Did not start the Sept. 10 season opener vs. Florida State, but played the majority of downs at right end, registering 2 tackles, 1 QB pressure and 2 fumble recoveries. 2003 (SOPHOMORE): Played in all 13 games, making 10 starts at defensive end…seventh on the team in tackles with 51 (14 solo), five quarterback sacks (29 yards), and 14 quarterback hurries…also recovered three fumbles with nine yards in returns and forced another fumble…assisted on one tackle at Louisiana Tech…made six tackles against East Carolina…had three tackles each against Florida, Boston College and West Virginia…turned in a career day in UM’s 22-14 win at Florida State…recorded a then-career best eight tackles, including two solo stops, two sacks (nine yards), one forced fumble and two sacks, while pressuring the quarterback five times…made one unassisted tackle and one assist against Temple…registered five tackles (three solo), one sack (four yards) and recovered a fumble at Virginia Tech…made a career-best 10 tackles, including a career-high five solo tackles against Tennessee…added four assisted tackles and five quarterback hurries in a win over Syracuse…pitched in with three assists and one quarterback hurry against Rutgers…made three assisted tackles and two quarterback sacks (nine yards) at Pittsburgh to help clinch the Big East title.
2002 (FRESHMAN): Played in seven games as a reserve defensive end (Florida A&M, Florida, Temple, Connecticut, Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Syracuse)…registered six tackles (four solos), including two for losses (seven yards) and one quarterback sack (six yards), along with three quarterback hurries…made two tackles at Syracuse and had two quarterback hurries…made one tackle at Tennessee, a sack for a six-yard loss in the fourth quarter…had one tackle against Connecticut…made two tackles at Temple, including a stop for a one-yard loss…played in the fourth quarter at Florida, but did not make a tackle…made his Miami debut in reserve duty against Florida A&M, but did not make a tackle.
2001 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the 2001 season with a redshirt and played on the Hurricanes’ scout team.
HIGH SCHOOL: Lakewood…widely considered the top defensive line prospect in the state of New Jersey…led his team to an 8-2 record and a playoff berth, the best season by Lakewood High in many years…played extensively as a tight end in high school, showing ability as a receiver to go with his outstanding blocking skills… led Lakewood to its first conference title in 2000, catching 20 passes for 292 yards (14.6 avg.) and one touchdown…at defensive end, he recorded 117 tackles, 27 tackles for losses, and had 18 quarterback sacks during his senior season…also blocked three kicks in 2000…had more than 100 tackles and 12 quarterback sacks as a junior in 1999…was an outstanding blocker on offense, grading out at 91 percent for the season…timed at 4.7 in the 40…has outstanding athleticism, starring in both basketball and football…a SuperPrep All-American…rated the No. 24 defensive lineman in the nation by SuperPrep…rated the No. 6 prospect overall in New Jersey by SuperPrep…coached by Nick Eremita.
