2002 (SENIOR): A First Team All-BIG EAST Conference selection by the league’s coaches…provided outstanding play at left guard…came up big in Miami’s most important games of the season…had 38 pancake block during the regular season and 12 metrorails…had a season-high seven pancakes against Virginia Tech…had four pancakes against Florida, Tennessee and Pittsburgh…had six pancake blocks against Florida State…named one of the team’s offensive MVPs against Florida State and Syracuse…had a season-best three metrorails at Tennessee.
2001 (JUNIOR): Standout guard and a vital member of college football’s top offensive line before a knee injury ended his season…was enjoying an excellent season before the injury suffered in practice on November 6…started at left guard in the first seven games of the season playing alongside All-American tackle Joaquin Gonzalez…a native of Iran who has spent most of his life in Canada and the United States, Haji-Rasouli developed into one of the team’s leaders in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks, discussing the Islamic religion with his teammates…despite missing the season’s final four games, Haji-Rasouli was named Second-Team All-BIG EAST by the league’s coaches.
2000 (SOPHOMORE): Played in six games, seeing extensive action in three of those contests…made impressive progress during fall training camp before suffering an injury to his left knee that required arthroscopic surgery…recovered quickly to become a regular contributor to an offensive line that allowed the Hurricane offense to generate 460.8 yards per game and put up a school record 469 points during the regular season…also contributed to an offensive line that allowed an incredible three sacks in 340 passing plays during the regular season.
1999 (FRESHMAN): Played in nine games as a back-up to All-American Richard Mercier at left guard…saw first action of his career in Miami’s home opener against Florida A&M…member of Miami offensive line that only allowed 20 sacks all season, while averaging more than 400 yards per contest…paved the way for the Hurricanes to average over 170 yards per game on the ground.
1998 (REDSHIRT): Spent season rehabilitating right knee following reconstructive surgery.
HIGH SCHOOL: J.A. MacDonald…played both offensive tackle and defensive end…third ranked football player in Canada…team MVP as a senior…also competed in basketball, rugby and track…started at center for the basketball team and averaged 10 points and 12 rebounds in leading squad to the city championship his senior season…threw shot put on the track team…was first in the city and second in the region in the shot as a sophomore…lettered three seasons in rugby…coached in football by Ken Henderson.
