2001 (SENIOR): Exceptional student-athlete who was the consummate team player, seeing extensive action as a receiver, tight end and fullback throughout his Miami career…one of the team’s top student-athletes…formerly one of the nation’s top high school wide receiver prospects, Williams has good speed for a tight end, running a 4.68 in the 40 and has a 32-inch vertical leap…graduated in December, 2000, with a degree in finance in just 3 ? years…worked part-time for an investment firm in Miami and finished a master’s degree in accounting in December, 2001….after spending much of his career rotating between fullback and tight end, Williams played exclusively at tight end during his senior season…played in 10 of 11 games during the regular season and was used extensively in double-tight end sets…had two receptions for 15 yards this season…had an 11-yard reception against Syracuse and a four-yard catch against Virginia Tech.
2000 (JUNIOR): Played in 11 games as both a fullback and a tight end…rushed for 23 yards on nine carries as a fullback and has caught six passes for 115 yards (19.2 avg.) as a tight end…enjoyed the finest game of his career against Rutgers, carrying eight times for 20 yards at fullback while catching two passes for 68 yards at tight end…had a career-long 41-yard catch and run against Rutgers…caught a 14-yard pass against Florida State.
1999 (SOPHOMORE): Played in 11 games…rushed for 14 yards on six carries and recorded four catches for 38 yards and two touchdowns…recorded a season-high 10 yards rushing on four carries against Temple…also registered a six yard TD reception against the Owls…recorded two receptions for 27 yards and a touchdown versus Rutgers.
1998 (FRESHMAN): Did not appear in any games…limited most of season due to shoulder injury that eventually required surgery.
1997 (REDSHIRT): Spent the season as a member of the scout team.
HIGH SCHOOL: Bishop Lynch…SuperPrep and Parade All-American…named to Dave Campbell’s Super Team…participated in the 1997 All-American Bowl and East vs. West All-Star game…threw for 722 yards and five touchdowns, completing 36 of 85 passes…caught 29 passes for 496 yards…ran for 595 yards on 62 carries…also lettered in basketball and track…coached by Bill Persinger.
