2001 (JUNIOR): Took over the starting job at defensive end after an injury to Andrew Williams and was a stellar player over the last half of the season…eighth on the team in tackles with 47…had six quarterback sacks to tie for the second-most on the team…credited with 22 quarterback hurries…started the season with a four-tackle performance, including one quarterback sack, in the 33-7 win at Penn State…had six stops at Pittsburgh in a 43-22 victory…made three tackles, including a sack for a 16-yard loss, and forced a fumble in a 38-7 win over Troy State…made four stops in the 49-27 win at Florida State…had five tackles, including two sacks, in a 45-3 win over West Virginia…made six tackles and a sack in a 38-0 shutout of Temple…had five stops in the 18-7 win at Boston College…had three stops and a quarterback sack in the 59-0 win over Syracuse… made four tackles against Washington in a 65-7 victory…matched his career-best with six tackles and a stop for a loss in a 26-24 win at Virginia Tech…had three unassisted tackles in Miami’s 37-14 Rose Bowl victory over Nebraska that clinched Miami’s fifth national championship.
2000 (SOPHOMORE): Provided a pass rushing presence for a defensive line decimated by injuries early in the season…became a mainstay of Miami’s defensive front after sitting out the first two games…consistently improved throughout the season, forcing teams to think twice about double-teaming All-BIG EAST defensive tackle Damione Lewis…started the season’s final nine games…produced his best games in the season’s final month, a span of four games versus Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Boston College…had five tackles (four solos), one quarterback sack and three tackles for losses in the 41-21 win over then-No. 2 ranked Virginia Tech…had five tackles (four solos) and a quarterback sack plus three quarterback hurries in a 35-7 win over Pittsburgh…had six tackles (all solos) including one for a loss of three yards in Miami’s 26-0 shutout win over Syracuse at the Carrier Dome…had four tackles (three solos) and a quarterback hurry in a 52-6 win over Boston College…had four tackles, one quarterback sack and a fumble recovery against Temple…registered one unassisted tackle in Miami’s 37-20 win over Florida in the Nokia Sugar Bowl.
1999 (FRESHMAN): Played in every game as a key reserve at left end…also saw action on special teams…recorded 21 tackles, seven solo, in his first season of action…placed third on the defense with four sacks for a loss of 25 yards…had a total of five tackles for loss… tallied a season-high five tackles, four assisted, at Florida State…first collegiate tackle came against Florida A&M (one assist)… totaled three tackles at East Carolina, including two solo, one sack and two tackles for loss…had three tackles and one sack at Pittsburgh… recorded three assisted tackles at Virginia Tech…had two tackles and one sack against Rutgers…made one tackle against Syracuse… finished the regular season with three tackles and one sack against Temple…assisted on one tackle in the Toyota Gator Bowl against Georgia Tech.
1998 (REDSHIRT): One of 15 members of the 1998 recruiting class to redshirt.
HIGH SCHOOL: Woodrow Wilson…named to the New Jersey All-State first-team…also named to the All-South Jersey and All-Conference teams…registered 98 tackles, 65 solo, 13 sacks, four fumbles caused and four fumbles recovered during his senior season at defensive end…as the team captain in 1997, led Wilson to a district title…earned county Player of the Week honors after recording 12 tackles, five for a loss, and three sacks in a win over rival Camden High School…also saw action at tight end and on special teams…was an All-Conference selection in his first year of organized football as a junior…coached by Steve Murray.
