CAREER: Excellent athlete who played in 42 games over the course of his four-year career… started 10 games in his senior season after serving as a reserve linebacker in his first three years… played with some great Hurricane linebackers including Dan Morgan, Chris Campbell, Jonathan Vilma, and D.J. 2002 (JUNIOR): Played in 11 games and recorded nine tackles (all unassisted) and two quarterback sacks (12 yards)… played extensively at weakside linebacker behind starter D.J. Williams… also was an integral part of special teams coverage and return units… had a season-high three tackles at Syracuse… had one tackle in four different games (Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Rutgers and Florida State)… made two stops against Connecticut, both coming on quarterback sacks for a total of 12 yards in losses.
2001 (SOPHOMORE): Played in nine games and recorded six tackles (four unassisted)… was credited with one quarterback pressure… played extensively at weakside linebacker behind starter D.J. Williams… also was an integral part of special teams coverage and return units… had one kickoff return for one yard.
2000 (FRESHMAN): Played in nine regular season games plus the Nokia Sugar Bowl… saw extensive action on special teams throughout the season… made five tackles (three solos) on the season… had two unassisted tackles in his first collegiate game, the season opener vs. McNeese State at the Orange Bowl… had one assist in the win over Temple… had two stops (one solo) in the 41-21 win over No. 2-ranked Virginia Tech.
HIGH SCHOOL: Coconut Creek… recorded 95 tackles and 16 sacks as a senior… as a junior, blocked three punts (two resulted in touchdowns) and made 108 tackles in leading his team to the district title… rated the No. 73 overall prospect in Florida by SuperPrep… named to Class 4A-5A-6A All-Broward County second team… second-team All-State by the Sun-Sentinel… timed at 4.35 in the 40.
PERSONAL: Chose Miami over Syracuse, Boston College, Florida and Kansas… son of Darrell and Cathy McClover.
