2002 (JUNIOR): Started three games at cornerback when UM opened in nickel or dime coverage… vital member of the Miami secondary as a mainstay in nickel and dime coverage packages… made 19 tackles, including 9 solos, broke up six passes, recovered a fumble and intercepted a pass… started three games, two at cornerback and one as a fifth defensive back… had one solo tackle in the Fiesta Bowl against Ohio State… made two tackles and recovered a fumble against Virginia Tech… had three tackles at Syracuse… made one tackle and broke up three passes against Pittsburgh… had one tackle and broke up a pass at Tennessee… recorded an interception for a 34-yard return and also broke up a pass at Rutgers… made one tackle at West Virginia… recorded three tackles against Florida State… made three tackles in the win over Connecticut… made three tackles in the win over Boston College… credited with one tackle at Temple… had one assist and a pass deflection against Florida… started at cornerback in the season opener against Florida A&M but did not register a tackle.
2001 (SOPHOMORE): A valuable member of the Miami secondary as a mainstay in nickel and dime coverage packages… had five tackles in the season opening win over Penn State… made four tackles in the victory over Rutgers… had two tackles in the win at Pittsburgh… made three stops in a victory over Troy State… had four tackles in a win over West Virginia… made four stops against Temple in a shutout victory… had one stop against Boston College… made two tackles in a 59-0 win over Syracuse… had one assist in the victory over Washington.
2000 (FRESHMAN): One of a handful of true freshmen to earn playing time and a letter… played in nine games and garnered nine tackles (four solos)… broke up two passes on the season… had a season-high three tackles against both Rutgers and Temple… deflected two passes against Temple… played in every game except the contests with Florida State and Virginia Tech.
HIGH SCHOOL: Clewiston… assisted team to the district title in his final season… as a senior in a run-oriented offense, had 15 receptions for 330 yards and four touchdowns… also recorded 125 yards rushing on seven carries with one touchdown… on defense, totaled 75 total tackles, three interceptions, two fumbles caused and one recovered… had one punt return for a touchdown… first-team All-State selection as a defensive back… named All-Conference MVP on defense… played for Team Florida in 2000 Florida/Georgia All-Star Game… timed at 4.42 in the 40… crowned state champion in the 200 and 400 meter sprints, as well as 4×400 relay… coached by Al Morrell.
PERSONAL: Chose Miami over Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Michigan State… son of Cynthia and Willie Marshall.
