Senior offensive lineman who looks to take over the starting job at right tackle in 2009 after having a good spring … Earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology last May.

 

2008 (JUNIOR): Played in all 13 games for the Hurricanes, mainly on the placekicking unit … Played extensively at tackle against Virginia and Virginia Tech and also saw action along the offensive line against UCF, Duke and Georgia Tech … Best game of the season came against Virginia Tech when he played a season-high 17 plays at tackle and graded out at 96 percent … Graded out at 95 percent with two pancake blocks playing a total of 57 plays in six games on the offensive line.

 

2007 (SOPHOMORE): Played as a reserve right guard in the fourth quarter in the first game of the season against Marshall … Took snaps at center during spring practice.

 

2006 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN): Played in the final 12 games of the season for the first action of his collegiate career … Saw limited duty at guard in three games and blocked on the placekicking unit in 12 games … In his first collegiate game against Florida A&M, played on the placekicking unit and saw some reserve duty at left guard in the second half … Saw action at left guard for the final series against North Carolina … Played right guard for the final series in the FIU game.

 

2005 (REDSHIRT): Did not play, but practiced with the scout team … Received a redshirt.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: Named first-team All-Elite State as a senior, which includes all classifications in Iowa … Played defensive end as well, totaling 50 tackles and seven sacks … As a junior, was an All-State Class 3A first-team selection … Played tight end as a sophomore, when he was named All-District before moving to the offensive line … Had two touchdown receptions that year while showing his ability as a blocker … Also played some defensive end … Also participated in track and basketball … First player in his town (population 2,500) to attend a Division I-A program … Rated as the No. 38 offensive tackle prospect in the nation by Rivals.com … Coached by Matt Hubbard.
