AT MIAMI: Talented rush end who has been an effective reserve… has an exceptional first step and is quick off the snap… has consistently improved his strength since coming to Miami.

2002 (SOPHOMORE): Played in four games as a reserve defensive end… credited with six tackles (four solos)… had two unassisted stops at Syracuse… made one tackle at Tennessee… made three tackles (two solos) in the season opener against Florida A&M… was slowed during two-a-days by a bruised muscle in his sternum.

2001 (FRESHMAN): Was a key member of Miami’s defensive line rotation… made 29 tackles (18 unassisted)… had five quarterback sacks, third-highest on the team… had three tackles for losses… had two tackles and a sack in his debut against Penn State… made six tackles and recovered a fumble that he returned five yards for a touchdown against Rutgers…made eight stops against Troy State, including a quarterback sack… had two sacks and five tackles overall against West Virginia… made two stops against Syracuse, also registering a quarterback sack.

2000 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season to bulk up and add strength to his lanky frame… was a significant contributor on the scout team.

HIGH SCHOOL: Yates… named to the 2000 SuperPrep Southwest Team…no. 66 prospect in Texas by SuperPrep… Houston Chronicle Top 100 and District 17-5A first-team… Austin American-Statesman’s 2000 Fab 55… All-Greater Houston second-team selection… made 172 tackles, 21 sacks, 54 tackles for loss and 12 fumble recoveries over three-year high school career… recorded 67 tackles and eight sacks as a senior… All-District selection in basketball… three-year letterman in track and field competing in 4×400-meter relay, 400-meter dash and high jump… member of school’s honor society… graduated in top 10 percent of class… coached by Maurice McGowen.
