Miami Edison

1955-1956Senior forward, has improved steadily throughout his Miami career and has the potentiality for a great year. He developed great accuracy with a jump shot last year and can rebound strongly off both backboards. A measure of his improvement last year is shown by the fact that as a junior he hit on .397 percent of his shots against .264 the previous year. Ed got 63 points in his freshman year, added 97 as a sophomore and his 195 junior points give him 355 for a starter, 12th best in Miami's all time totals. More accuracy from the free throw line would assure him an average in the double figures. He had a poor .437 average from the charity line as a sophomore and only .569 last year. At that, his 9.7 points per game represents the second best scoring average among the returnees.1953-19546 foot 4 inch sophomore from Miami Edison, was very green at the start of the 1952-53 campaign but stuck at the job, improved steadily under fire and now opens the 1953-54 campaign as a probable starting forward. Ed had a mediocre 27% on his field goal attempts last year and collected only 63 points all year. However, he's coming along steadily and should be more capable in point making. He is a good rebounder and board man. Lots of work on a set shot is showing results. 1952-1953Was all city and all Big Ten for Miami Edison High school last year. He scored 250 points for his ball club in 20 games, having a 20 point night against Ft. Lauderdale. Frank is 6 foot 4 inches tall and weights 185. He is coming along very well his freshman year at Miami and is being counted on for a lot of service.
