Douglas Howell

1953-1954Played his high school basketball at Oak Ridge, Tenn. After graduating from junior college, he enrolled at University of Miami. He was named on the national junior college all star team. At 6 foot 8, he should be the answer to Miami's long quest for height. In practice, eh ahs shown considerable aptitude on rebound- he can jump exceptionally well for a tall man and in track, clears six foot in the high jump. He is fast ad has an excellent hook shot. He is slated to play center. His best high school scoring game netted him 27 points.
