2000 (JUNIOR): Was awarded the Offensive Lineman of the Year Award by the Miami coaching staff…blossomed into a force for the Hurricanes in his first season of play at UM…did not allow a quarterback sack during the 2000 season…named a mid-season All-American by CNNSI.com, McKinnie earned First-Team All-America acclaim by The Football News after the season…a First-Team All-BIG EAST selection by the league’s coaches, The Football News, and College Football News…earned national acclaim after an impressive performance in Miami’s 27-24 win over Florida State in which he held FSU’s Jamal Reynolds sackless on the day through 38 pass attempts…played a major role in Miami’s pass protection on the line allowed a shockingly low three sacks in 340 pass plays in the regular season…also helped pave the way for a 1,000-yard season by tailback James Jackson, just the fifth time a Miami back has surpassed the 1,000-yard plateau…was part of a line that allowed the Miami offense to lead the BIG EAST and rank among the national leaders in total offense, averaging 460.8 yards per game.
