Sophomore guard, 5-11 ft. 173 lbs. …originally from Oakland, California. Battling for starting duties at point guard…has exceptional speed, quickness, and court vision…is a great passer and excellent ball handler.  Has the ability to access the basket or pull up and hit the open jumper…known as a tough defender and floor leader…chose Miami over Georgetown, Southern California, Arkansas and Louisville.

Freshman Year (2002-03)

Saw action in all 28 games and started in 15…average 6.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.3 steals and 28.1 minutes per game…led team in assist and ranked fourth in scoring…led all UM freshman in minutes played. In the Regular Season: made collegiate debut in Hurricanes opener against New Hampshire (11-23-02) recording eight points, one rebound, one assists and two steals in 22 minutes against Texas A&M (11-26-02) reaching a team high six assists while committing no turnovers…also had one rebound and one steal. Played a season high 24 minutes against Savannah State (11-30-02) recording two points, two rebounds, two assists, one block and three steals…made first collegiate start against Charlotte (12-15-02) recording 10 points, two rebounds, four assist, and two steals…recorded 13 points, nine assists and four rebounds in 47 minutes against No. 13 Florida  (12-21-02)…had seven points, two assists and recorded season highs with five rebounds and four steals vs. Seton Hall (1-18-03)…recorded nine points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals against No. 11 Connecticut (1-20-03)…scored six of his points in the finals 33 seconds to help UM to a 77-76 win…scored in double-figures for the third time this season posting 11 points, two rebounds, five assists and three steals against St. Johns (2-2-03)…had 12 points, on 6-8 shooting, two rebounds, seven assists and just one turnover against Providence (2-18-03)…recorded 11 points, two rebounds, two assists and one steal against Georgetown (2-22-03)…was 4-8 from the field…scored 14 points with two assists and two steals versus Boston College  (3-1-03)…was 6-8 from the field and 2-2 from the line…set a career high with 15 points to go with eight assists and four rebounds against Virginia Tech (3-5-03)…was 6-9 from the field, 1-1 from three-point range and 2-2 from the line. BIG EAST TOURNATMENT: Had eight points, one rebound and two assists against Seton Hall (3-12-03).

High School

Attended Oakland Technical…first-team All-State selection…averaged 18 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and five steals per game as a senior in leading Oakland Technical High School to a 28-4 record and a trip to the California Division I State championship game…team MVP and first-team All-Metro selection as a senior…67^th ranked senior prospect according to ESPN.com…coached by Hodari McGavock..honor roll student as a senior.
