Miami Golf Moves into Top 10 After Strong Second Round at ACC Championship
WILMINGTON, N.C. – The University of Miami women’s golf team sits at No. 8 in the ACC Women’s Golf Championship after two rounds of play. The Canes finished rounds one and two with a combined score of +2.
Miami opened the tournament with a round one score of six over par before responding with an elite second round. The Hurricanes then shot four under in round two, marking the second-best team score of that round.
Senior Stella Jelinek leads the Hurricanes and is tied for 14th place overall at one under par (73-70). Jelinek’s 36 hole day was highlighted by her four birdies in round two.
Barbora Bujáková is tied for 30th at +1 overall (75-70), also carding a two under 70 in the second round move up the standings.
Ashleen Kaur is currently tied for 35th at +2 (73-73), delivering consistent play with back-to-back rounds of 73.
Rebekah Gardner is tied for 61st at +7 (73-78), while Cloe Amion Villarino rounds out the Canes on the leaderboard in 64th shooting eight over. Amion Villarino had an impressive bounce back going one under par in the second round to improve 10 strokes from her opening round.
Miami also closed out the first day of postseason ahead of four nationally ranked opponents, No. 17 Florida State, No. 33 Virginia, No. 39 Virginia Tech, and No. 48 California.
