Miami Notches Undefeated Weekend
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team (13-4, 8-2 ACC) won the weekend after a 4-1 victory over the Boston College Eagles (8-12, 0-10 ACC) on Sunday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
The Hurricanes controlled the start of the match with the doubles point as Sebastianna Scilipoti and Raquel Gonzalez struck first at the top court, 6-1, over Seren Agar and Olivia Benton. Court two’s Daria Volosova and Dominika Podhajecka then clinched the doubles point, 6-4, over Bella Camacho and Tola Glowacka.
Boston College took the first singles win on court three with Leyden Games taking it, 6-3, 6-0, over Scilipoti. Volosova started the Miami wins on six with a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Nadia Barteck, followed by another 6-4, 6-1 win from Podhajecka on court five over Camacho. Jaquelyn Ogunwale then clinched it on court two with a 6-2, 6-3 win.
The Hurricanes are back on Friday to face UNC at home.
