M. Tennis Falls Short to Wolfpack

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team (7-7, 0-4 ACC) dropped the match, 4-2, to the NC State Wolfpack (12-1, 4-0 ACC) on Sunday afternoon at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

In almost an hour of doubles matches, the No. 85 ranked duo of Martin Borisiouk and Jules Leroux took down Antonio Prat and Jakub Kroslak. The other two courts battled for the doubles point, but the Wolfpack secured it with a 7-6 win over Nacho Serra Sanchez and Mehdi Sadaoui.

Court six fell first, as Darius Pop defeated Garot, 6-4, 6-2 to extend the lead. Miami then earned a point from Serra Sanchez with a retirement from No. 97 William Manning on court two.

At the top court, No. 98 Prat battled but fell to No. 13 Borisiouk, 6-3, 3-6, 3-6, for NC State to go up 3-1. Segado then came back and won on court four, 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, over Ainius Sabaliauskas to cut the deficit for Miami.

The Wolfpack clinched it on court five with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 win over Segado from Charlie Camus. When play was halted, Kroslak was tied with Leroux.

The Hurricanes will travel to Georgia Tech and Clemson next week.
