Miami Falls to No. 4 Wake Forest
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team (7-6, 0-3 ACC) dropped their third straight match with a shutout from the No. 4 Wake Forest Demon Deacons (16-2, 3-0 ACC) on Friday afternoon.
The Demon Deacons secured the doubles point as Mees Rottgering and Kacper Szymkowiak beat Rafael Segado and Jules Garot, 6-1, before Luca Pow and Aryan Shah defeated Nacho Serra Sanchez and Mehdi Sadaoui, 6-2.
Wake Forest’s Szymkowiak earned the win on court four over Segado, 6-4, 6-1. Within minutes, Saud Alhogbani fell, 6-7, 3-6, to Dominick Mosejczuk, while Sadoaui fell, 2-6, 5-7, to Joaquin Guilleme.
When play was halted, No. 98 Antonio Prat led No. 18 DK Suresh Ekambaram 3-6, 6-4, 5-3 at the top court, Sanchez was down 6-4, 4-6, 2-3, to No. 51 Rottgering and Kroslak was tied 6-2, 6-7 with No. 17 Luca Pow.
The Hurricanes will remain home to face No. 23 NC State to look for their first ACC win of the season.
