Hurricanes Record Fourth Sweep of 2026

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team (5-2) earned another road win with a 4-0 shutout against the Louisville Cardinals (7-1) on Sunday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

Louisville opened the match with the win on court three, 6-2, over Maria Vargas and Daria Volosova from Germany Davis and Lucia Gallegos. Sofia Rocchetti and Sebastianna Scilipoti then evened it up with a 6-3 win over Berta Miret and Elena Noguero.

At the top court, Raquel Gonzalez and Dominika Podhajecka battled back from a 2-5 deficit to clinch the doubles point, 7-6 (5), against Alice Otis and Lika Peresypkina.

With a strong 6-3, 6-1 performance, No. 77 Gonzalez was first to finish in singles over Otis, before Podhajecka took the 6-2, 6-2 victory against Lika Peresypkina to extend the lead.

To clinch the win, Volosova notched the 7-5, 6-1 win against Rebekkah Gaines on court six to end the match.

The Hurricanes will travel to North Carolina to face Wake Forest and NC State on March 6 and 8, respectively.
