Miami Signee Gaskins Garners McDonald’s All-America Honors
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami men’s basketball signee Caleb Gaskins was named a 2026 McDonald’s All-American, it was announced Monday on ESPN.
The Melbourne, Florida, native becomes the seventh Hurricane to earn the prestigious honor, joining Tito Horford (1985), Steve Edwards (1992), Darius Rice (2000), Dewan Hernandez (2016), Lonnie Walker IV (2017) and Jalil Bathea (2024).
Gaskins, who was recently named to the Naismith Boys’ High School Player of the Year Midseason Team, is the second-highest rated recruit in program history in the 247Sports Composite rankings and is tabbed as the No. 13 prospect by ESPN, No. 14 by Rivals and No. 20 by 247Sports.
The McDonald’s All-American boys’ game will take place in Glendale, Arizona, on March 31 at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN at the Desert Diamond Arena. ESPN 2 will also air the Sprite Jam Fest, a dunk contest featuring All-Americans, on March 30, at 9:30 p.m. ET.
