Canes Dominate Stetson to Close Non-Conference Slate with 77-45 Win
CORAL GABLES, Fla.—Four players on the University of Miami women’s basketball team posted double figures in scoring as the Canes rolled past Stetson 77-45 on Sunday afternoon. Miami’s home win concludes their 2025 non-conference slate and puts the Canes on a three-game win streak heading into ACC play.
Miami now stands at 9–4 overall and 1–1 in ACC play, while Stetson drops to 7–4 and 0–0 in ASUN.
Ahnay Adams set the offensive tone early, scoring Miami’s first four points with back-to-back driving layups. Stetson’s Cameron Thomas answered with three baskets from beyond the arc to give the Hatters the lead for six minutes and 42 seconds. Miami trailed by as many as four before tying the game at 13–13 to end the first quarter.
At the start of the second period, Miami capitalized on three Stetson turnovers to take a 20–16 lead, its largest of the game so far (7:12). The Hatters quickly called a timeout to reset, but Miami responded with a 12–2 scoring run to close the half with a 34–23 advantage. Gal Raviv led Miami’s offense with seven points in the second quarter, while Kyle, Adams, and Candace Kpetikou grabbed three rebounds each to lead the Canes on defense.
Coming out for the second half Miami held Stetson to only three points for upwards of five and a half minutes. During that time span the Canes distributed four assists, brought in nine rebounds, and forced three turnovers on the Hatters. Miami then garnered its first 20-point advantage of the game at 48-28 with 3:27 left in the third. The Canes extended its lead to 55-31 ahead of the final period of play.
Miami’s offense remained dominate in the fourth quarter, tallying a game high 22 points across seven players. Adams led all in scoring during the final 10 minutes of play, posting seven and shooting 3-of-5 from the field. The Canes also outrebounded the Hatters 9-7 in the fourth to solidify the 77-45 victory.
Miami will return to its ACC slate, Thursday, Jan. 1 at Virginia Tech. Tipoff in Blacksburg is set for 6 p.m. and will be available via streaming on ACCNX.
