Alexa Noel Named W. Tennis Assistant Coach
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami director of men’s and women’s tennis and women’s tennis head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews announced Tuesday the hiring of former Hurricanes standout and 2024 NCAA singles champion Alexa Noel as assistant women’s tennis coach.
“Alexa understands our culture and our goals,” said Yaroshuk-Tews. “She’s a proven winner and will be an incredible asset to this program.”
Prior to joining the coaching staff, Noel spent the last three seasons as a member of the Miami women’s tennis team, earning the 2024 NCAA singles title for the program’s fourth individual championship. In her career, she went 107-20 overall in singles play and 58-24 in doubles between her time at Miami and two seasons at Iowa.
Noel, one of the most decorated tennis players in UM history, was a four-time ITA All-American, the 2024 ACC Player of the Year and a four-time All-ACC honoree.
“I’m humbled to be named the assistant women’s tennis coach here at The U,” said Noel. “The opportunity to help mentor the team under Coach’s guidance is special.”
The Summit, N.J., native is coming off her last season as a student-athlete where she wrapped up her college career with multiple academic accolades in addition to a 15-1 singles record. Noel was the 2024 ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, a two-time CSC Academic All-American, three-time All-Conference Academic honoree and two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete.
“I’m extremely excited to start this next chapter and I hope to contribute in new ways as part of the coaching staff,” Noel said. “I want to thank Paige, Alex and the entire athletics department for their continued belief in me.”
Before entering college, Noel peaked at fourth in the world in the ITF Juniors rankings and competed in all four Junior Grand Slams. She reached the Wimbledon Juniors singles final in 2019 and won the 2019 USTA U18 National Championships doubles title.
