
Katz Named ITA Southeast Player of the Year
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami men’s tennis player Martin Katz was named the ITA Southeast Senior Player of the Year, the association announced Tuesday.
Following his most successful year in his collegiate career, Katz was tabbed his first ITA award after qualifying for his first NCAA Singles Championships and earning his first All-ACC Second Team honor.
The Belgium native notched a 25-10 overall singles record, went undefeated at home earned nine ranked wins and reached a career-high ITA singles ranking of No. 20. Additionally, he tabbed a 13-10 overall doubles record, claimed two ranked doubles win and earned a career-high doubles ranking of No. 41 with Antonio Prat. On top of his athletic accolades, Katz was also named a CSC Academic All-District honoree.
Katz ends his career at Miami with 80 singles wins, 20 being ranked, and 51 doubles wins.
