Katz Secures First Career All-ACC Honor

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami men’s tennis player Martin Katz was named to the All-ACC Second Team in singles, the conference announced Thursday.

The accolade is Katz’ first career All-ACC honor after claiming a 25-9 overall singles record, 8-2 record in conference play and going 9-7 versus ranked opponents. On top of an already unforgettable year for the senior, Katz earned his highest career ITA singles ranking at No. 20 and second highest career win following a victory over No. 18 Sebastian Dominko of Notre Dame.

The Belgium native also went on two seven match win streaks, went undefeated at home and clinched the Hurricanes’ highest ranked team win of the season when they took down No. 16 Clemson.

Katz and the rest of the men’s tennis team will await their NCAA tournament fate on April 28.
