Hurricanes Fall to Eagles

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team (2-5) fell 4-2 to the Boston College Eagles (5-8) on Sunday afternoon.

The Hurricanes fell short of the doubles point, followed by only securing two singles courts.

Alexa Noel and Maria Paula Vargas secured a 6-3 doubles win on court two over Seren Agar and Nada Dimovska, but the other two pairs dropped their courts to move into singles without the advantage.

Boston College opened singles with back-to-back wins after Nadia Barteck defeated Vargas, 6-2, 6-2, on court six and Agar took down No. 78 Gonzalez, 6-1, 6-3, on court two.

Arai then put the Hurricanes on the board following a 6-0, 6-4 victory over Alex Torre at the No. 5 spot, before Noel tallied another point with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Benton.

The Hurricanes are back on March 12 when they host Penn at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
