DALLAS — The Miami Hurricanes capped a successful weekend at the SMU Classic Saturday afternoon, finishing with multiple NCAA cut times, several top-10 performances and one school record over two days.

Miami took fourth place in a talented field, finishing with 278 points. Louisville finished in first place, followed by Auburn and Texas A&M.

Headlined by a sweep of the springboard diving events by Mia Vallée and three first-place finishes by captain Giulia Carvalho, the Hurricanes enjoyed strong individual performances over the course of the event.

Carvalho’s weekend included three NCAA cut times, while freshman Ashlynn Massey posted a school record in the 200-yard butterfly.

Massey, a member of Miami’s impressive freshman class, also had the fourth-fastest time in school history in the 100-yard butterfly. Another impressive freshman – Marissa Inouye – had the third-fastest time in the 400-yard IM. Veteran Emma Sundstrand joined Inouye with a top-10 performance in the same event – the eighth-fastest and a personal-best mark.

Miami continues its season October 25 with a tri-meet against Rutgers and SMU.
