Jaquelyn Ogunwale Joins Miami for 2024-25 Season
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami women’s tennis head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews announced Friday the addition of Jaquelyn Ogunwale for the 2024-25 season.
From Herts, England, Ogunwale earned career-high ITF junior singles and doubles rankings of 453. She comes to Miami with six ITF doubles titles since 2019, two as recent as 2023 at J30 Liverpool.
In just the past two years, Ogunwale has reached the singles and doubles quarterfinals or farther in six tournaments, rising her ITF junior ranking 300 spots.
“For me, I love the work ethic of the coaches, as well as the emphasis on the team being able to lift each other up in terms of energy and camaraderie,” said Ogunwale. “I have a lot of respect for Alex and Paige for going out there everyday with visible passion, the intent to get better, and attention to detail, all whilst having full belief in the experience they have garnered over time.”
Ogunwale joins the Canes after qualifying for Wimbledon Juniors in 2022 for doubles, where she reached the round of 32.
“All in all, I’m excited to start a new chapter of my life and honored that it’s at Miami. Go Canes,” said Ogunwale.
Miami will await its postseason fate, tuning in to the NCAA Selection Show on Monday, April 29.
